2016.03.14 - Scheduled Maintenance Thursday 17th March 2016

As part of our investment into moving up the Telecoms food chain, in May 2015 we started the process to become a full telecom operator via SS7 interconnects with BT. As you know, we are already a full network operator - https://www.surevoip.co.uk/about/our-network

 

This involves moving from our existing connections with BT Wholesale (currently via private fibre), on to private fibre connections in our new fully expanded Edinburgh PoP and London PoP, via the BT Wholesale SS7 network. These are fully Ofcom regulated interconnects via a BT Standard Interconnect Agreement, which has taken 10 months. This makes us extremely unique in Scotland and very unique in the UK. It's not all done yet, but we'll keep you updated as it's a massive milestone for us.

 

As part of this expansion, we have increased our existing footprint in Telehouse East, with additional equipment being installed today. However, a change is needed that is *not* listed as service impacting by our network team, but Juniper have not been able to guarantee this 100%. Therefore we are going to make this change during our normal weekly maintenance window on Thursday night 10pm-11pm, just in case.
