Linux and VoIP Support Assistant

Suretec is looking for people to join their fun-loving but hard-working team. You'll be working on a wide range of Open Source technologies and providing a level of support to their clients that leads them to make comments such as, "Superb advice and excellent, friendly service from people who really care."

About the role:

You will advise and consult with their clients to help them make the best possible use of Linux (some have Windows and Macs in the mix) and VoIP (using SIP) within their organisations. You'll support existing clients, resolve problems and implement new onsite and hosted VoIP systems.

Typical technologies used include Nagios, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPS, Heartbeat/Pacemaker, DRBD, Apache, Squid, OpenLDAP, Samba, MySQL, a bit of Perl, Red Hat, Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS and PostgreSQL - but the next requirement they have may need something else entirely, and you'll need to research and recommend the appropriate solution.

You'll sometimes need to travel to client sites to perform deployment, implementation and support activities, so a driving licence and car are a big plus. You will however have a direct supervisor to lead you through all this. 

Experience: 

Ideally, you'll have worked with Linux in customer-facing role. You may not have experience with all of the technologies mentioned above, but you need to show that you are capable of understanding and deploying them in a professional environment. You should have general TCP/IP networking and Linux administration experience and be able to talk to clients on the phone.
